Zorigt Dashdorj serves on the board of directors of the Mongolia Development Strategy Institute and has his own risk consulting practice. He is also a director of several large companies in Mongolia.

He pursues a doctoral degree at the Kyushu University Law Faculty.

As a former head of Mongolia’s Mineral Resources and Energy Ministry (2008-2012) and a member of Parliament (2009-2012), he is one of the most recognised experts on the country’s mining and energy industries. During his tenure as a minister he signed or initiated several large scale mining and energy projects, which helped to make Mongolia one of the fastest growing frontier economies. Among these projects was the first commercial scale wind farm in Mongolia.

Prior to that, he was the first chief executive officer of the state-owned mining company Erdenes MGL, in charge of strategic projects. Also, he was in charge of policy planning in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Finance and Economy.

At the start of his public career, he served as Deputy Director for Strategic Planning and Coordination in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the First Secretary of Mongolia's Permanent Mission to the United Nations.

He has an LLM from Kyushu University, an MA in International Relations from the Australian National University and an MA in Political Science from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO).
